Phone country codes
International dialling codes: +1 (USA and Canada), +44 (UK), +91 (India), +61 (Australia), +81 (Japan). How to dial, and that +1 is shared.
A calling code (dialling code) is the prefix you add when you phone another country. It is written with a plus: +1, +44, +91. The plus means “whatever international access your phone uses” (often 00 from a landline).
The United States, Canada and several Caribbean states share +1 (the NANP). The United Kingdom is +44. India is +91. Australia is +61. Germany is +49. France is +33. China is +86. UAE is +971.
Drop the trunk zero after the country code (UK 020 becomes +44 20). This is not a live directory and not a spam list. For ISO letter codes, see the other page.
