A QR (Quick Response) code is a square barcode that stores text: a URL, a UPI payment string, a ticket ID, or Wi‑Fi login. Your camera app decodes it. The code itself is not “money” — it is only data.
Safe habit: read the preview (URL or merchant name) before you tap Open or Pay. Stickers on parking meters and gas pumps are sometimes swapped. A QR on a paper ticket can be a one-time boarding token — screenshots can be stolen.
