The Star Who Waited — short story for kids

The Star Who Waited

A gentle night story about patience.

This is an original GKSchools story for children — read it aloud, then try the three kind questions. Updated for families in 2026. It is not a school textbook scan.

Twinkle wanted to shine at noon. “Why must I wait?” she asked the moon. The moon hummed, “Day belongs to the sun. Night is our quiet stage.”

Twinkle practised being still. When dusk arrived, children pointed up. “Look!” Twinkle glowed — not first, but beautifully.

What did we learn?

Good things can come when we wait our turn.
